Day’s prince,
Robed in
Deep hues of autumn,
Spanning along
Curvaceous lines,
Gradually falling,
Gently lowering,
Fully embracing,
Until departing,
Disappearing,
Yielding his domain
To a lesser power,
One accompanied by
An infinity of attendants
To adorn the vast
Panorama
With dimmer sprinkles of
Delight,
Keeping watch over
The sleeping beauty
Beneath.

Might rename this “Celestial.” Or “A Mountain Sunset.”??????? Feedback?
so peaceful, Linnea, I really like this one! You just get better all the tme! What a gift you have!
I like the description “peaceful,” Deirdre. I hadn’t considered it but it’s accurate. Thank you.
I like the “Day’s Prince” title better than “Celestial.” Great work!
Thank you, Sean. I guess I was concerned about the interpretation but I am glad you like the original title. I am also glad to see you here again and I hope all is well with you and your family.
Thank you. All is well. Just less time for blog writing, reading, and commenting at the moment.
How in the heck do you come up with such beautiful words? What a gift from God you have! I love reading them and I loved reading this! God Bless, SR
Thank you, SR. I’ve been struggling. Every day I lie down to pray and “meditate.” Little has come of late but this came to me today suddenly and it was written within a few minutes. Moments like these are my lifeline; they make me feel connected, if that makes any sense.
Very smooth – flows well like a gentle lazy river.
I really like and appreciate this comment. Thank you, MMK.
You got it.
This was lovely.Did I understand it right as a changing of the seasons? You’re developing your own style now and in such a short time–keep focusing on a book of poems. It used to be they never sold, but in recent years are popular again. Strike while the iron is hot.
Hugs, Micki
I understand your interpretation but, no, this is nothing more than a sunset over a mountain range. I am working on getting a compilation ready. Thanks, Micki!
I have no idea how you do it–I continue to be amazed by each new post, each new poem. You definitely have a gift and I’ll be first in line for your poetry book!
Working on getting an illustration together for my book of poetry before I start submitting. Thank you for these months of great encouragement, Sandra.
The word that came to my mind as I read this poem was “lyrical.” Just reading your lines calms me.

Thank you.
That’s such a nice comment, Sandra. I’m truly glad this piece had that effect on you, especially since that’s the effect a sunset should have. Thank you.
Before reading any of the comments or your alternative titles, I thought of an evening drive on the road back to my neck of the woods from your old stomping grounds. Well done. The quality of your prolific output no longer surprises me. Those years of hard work in the mines, when strikes were few and far between, have truly paid off: you’ve hit the right vein… and we all get to appreciate the abundance of the mother lode. Thanks again.
You can’t know how much this means to me as those are the sunsets I hoped to portray with this poem. Thank you, Paul. Your words, and your faith in me, bring the encouragement such as one like me needs.
So beautiful! “Watching over sleeping beauty below.” So peaceful.
Thank you, Cherrye. That’s the second time “peaceful” was used to describe the poem and that pleases me.
What a way to go to sleep! Embraced by such beauty. You captured it line by line. Be encouraged to continue.
Liinneann,
I must agree that this reminds me of a Majestic Peacefullness.
I am so proud of you. You have grown so quuickly in your fabulous accomplishments over the months.
God truly blesses you and you so deserve it.
Hugs!
